Sunday, August 8, 2010 – 30 + artists on 4 stages, rain or shine, in Cates Park, North Vancouver; Whey-Ah-Wichen, Tsleil-Waututh- Nation; Festival of Art & Social Change that includes music, art, speakers & workshops;
The milestone of this festival has been reached. 20 years of activism and a parade of artists and counter culture spoke persons have converge here through all these years. This one, though might be the last one. The organizers who are volunteers, said they don´t have enough money to keep it going without going corporate. In order to bring good acts they need to have money and it doesn´t come easily.

Rain or shine you will find tables with activists defending and promoting their issues like environment, the struggle of the Palestinian people, peace activists, etc. The main dish so to speak is the acclaimed write Naomi Klein who will be speaking at 545 at the main stage. Its a great opportunity to meet this author of books liks No Logo and the Shock Doctrine.
So come enjoy the music and inform yourself. Education and truth will set us free. The organizers said the non profit organization will go on so the activism will continue…

The 20th and final Under the Volcano Festival of Art and Social Change is fast approaching.
If this is your first year setting up a table at the festival, prepare yourself for a fantastic day where you will be surrounded by 100+ community groups. You can expect to hear dozens of mind-blowing performers and you can sit in on some inspiring workshops featuring local and global activists and organizers. Hundreds of people will walk past your table making this one of the best outreach opportunities of the year. For more information about the festival and this year’s

To reserve your table:
• To reserve your table, please fill out the form below and send/email it to us with your payment of $25 by August 4th via mail. We prefer to receive pre-payment for tables but if you must pay on site please do so when you arrive. If you are selling wares (i.e. books) at your table or if you require 2 tables, the fee will be $50. The mailing address is included on the form.
• There is a separate area for crafters and artisans and the registration for the artisan fair is different. Please contact utvartisans@gmail.com if you are an artisan and want to participate in the artisan’s area.
