The Jolts
The Jolts: Vancouver´s excellent rock punk band.

Punk rock in its purest essence. Vancouver´s The Jolts is one of the loudest attitudes in the city. Leather jackets, heavy riffs, compact sound that makes you wanna jump with your fist in the air or crank up the volume of your old speakers. Makes you want to fuck society and shake your head like a rebel teenager. Their songs are catchy and on fire with killing sharp solos. I played their first CD Jinx many times on The Morning After Show to wake up the neighborhood. Its a 13 minutes discharge of electricity with my favourite song Bloody eye socket. That work was followed by Haute Voltage that contained songs like DMX and drop dead girl with awesome drums, great punk vocals and attacks of wah wahs. Then came the single Born speeding with B side gimme gasoline. Althought there were rumors of separation when bassist Lektor Kurrentz left the band after Haute Voltage to focus on his other project, The Isotopes, the Jolts kept on rocking on the wild side with a new bass player. The band has been kicking ass since 2004.

Review of their latest single Kaminari Lover by their fan and host of 101.9 FM Third Times the Charm Bryce Dunn who also plays drums for Tranzmitors:
Let us begin with our hometown heroes and road warriors themselves, the Jolts and their newest slab, set to stun on creamy yellow wax. Side A kicks off with “Kaminari Lover,” and if you keep up on Japanese mythology as much as the Jolts do, you know you don’t wanna mess with this weather goddess. She controls thunder and lightning. So needless to say, these boys bow to her altar, offering a surging mid-tempo storm of their own rock fury with swelling guitar breaks and lumbering bass to keep her at bay. Seeming unconvinced, she steps up her game and the boys follow suit with “Loser (Baby I’m A),” which barrels full-steam like the howling winds of Kaminari’s sister, Kamikazi. But the Jolts are on no suicide mission here—only victory is in their sights and they live to see and rock the hell out for another day, and you get to enjoy this for even longer.” – Bryce Dunn (Discorder)
