Venice Queen is a 4-piece rock band from Richmond

whose inspiration is derived from countless different groups and styles, with each song naturally sounding different from the rest. While inspired by bands like Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age, they refuse to pinpoint themselves to a specific genre other than to what sounds pleasing to their ears and hopefully to others!

started out as four friends playing cover songs of their favorite bands back when they were in high school.  After taking a few years off for post secondary education, they reunited in 2008, writing and performing original material.  Venice Queen quickly became one of Vancouver’s higher profile bands, selling out the local clubs with the help of their rapidly growing fan base.

They recorded their first self-titled album with Juice Mix Productions and entered the Vancouver Fox Seeds competition in the spring of 2009 with their single “Summertime No Show”.  After beating out hundreds of other bands for the title of Fox Seeds Winner, they shared the stage with Bif Naked at the legendary Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.

Currently, the band is touring across British Columbia and has plans to tour across Canada and the US relentlessly to bring their style of high energy rock to North America and the world.

Venice Queen: 1 of The Top 3 Finalist at Fox Seeds

Once a year, Vancouver Radio station 99.3 The Fox, holds a contest called “Fox Seeds”. Bands and singers from all over the mainland take part with hopes of making it to the final top three, and playing the Fox Seeds launch party held annually at the Commodore Ballroom. Among the top 3 finalists this year was rock band, Venice Queen.

Growing up in the suburbs of Vancouver, these talented musicians started off playing covers of their favorite songs and have come a long way having just released a new CD this past June. “We really only started playing original tunes and playing the Vancouver scene back in June of 2008″ explained lead singer Ryan Bloom. “Playing live shows is the most amazing thing in the world. We really feel connected to our fans and they give us a lot of support so it’s nice when we can go out and give back some love.” The boys have plans to tour all across Canada within the next year.
