Tall Poppy Records is the creation of renaissance woman, Lee Lindsey. The independent record label which has now branched into Poppy Cafe embodies everything that Lindsey herself represents: passion, a love for nurturing and supporting great music, and family.
What started off as an independent label and recording studio in London, England, soon sprouted off into Tall Poppy Presents. Lindsey’s networking skills, and experience in the music industry helped her host dozens of extremely successful shows, featuring local and international musicians. It was obvious to everyone involved in the process that Lindsey was destined to bring amazing music to the world. After 4 years of sowing and watching Tall Poppy grow into her passion-driven business Lindsey decided it was time to transplant her family and the company to her homeland of Canada.

Hey Vancouver! Looking for something fun to do tonight? Lee Lindsey, founder and regular singer for Poppy Cafe’s showcase has once again put together a night of unforgettable music by some extremely talented Canadian musicians, you’d be crazy to miss! On tonight’s Poppy Cafe roster is Paul Filek and The Fury.
Paul Filek’s is a romantic poet like James Blunt, paired with a healthy dose of humour a la Barenaked Ladies. His pure emotions can be heard in his intoxicating vocals in ballads like “One Love” (which gave me goosebumps each time I listened), and his talent has earned him spots opening for acts like STYX, Collin James and The Arkells. Fans will tell you that Filek’s shows always live up to the hype, and that seeing him live once is never enough.
