Back in the 70’s The Nerves were a trio of lads burning up the LA punk scene. They released only one EP that included a little track called “Hanging On The Telephone” which a young lady named Blondie covered and got a hit song out of.

My first impression of Whiskey Dix was a definitely a good one, to top it off, I really enjoyed what I managed to catch of Community Trees’ & Jesse & The Dandelions’ set.

When the crowd chants for more you give them what they want. MORE!!! They clearly take having a good time seriously as they do it so well and that’s what they pass along to their audience at a live show, a serious good time.

Since releasing Big Red Box CA$HCAT has been compared to Beastie Boys, Stereolab, Zapp + Roger and Talking Heads.

My mouth was open most of the time and when it was time to go back to the present, well, I just didn’t wanna leave yet.

Their sound was full and vibrant and those twinkly guitar hooks had me feeling like I was at a show that was a mixing of early Smashing Pumpkins, Silversun Pickups and My Bloody Valentine.

We love Jamaica for the music but over 516,000 Jamaicans live in poverty, almost half of whom are children.
