Jen Miller
Jen grew up in Nova Scotia and started playing guitar and writing her own songs at the age of 14. Her whole family is musical and so music was always around her growing up. She was surrounded by mics, amps, guitars and every other musical instrument her whole life. Every weekend was a big jam session in the basement. Although she had been playing guitar, singing and writing for years, it never really started to take off until she sold everything she owned and packed 2 bags and her beat up guitar and headed for the west coast.
After getting gigs in local cafes and pubs around Vancouver her sound and style began to change to a more folk/acoustic sound.
Most of her songs come form experiences she’s had in life with love, loss, frustration, dreams and even stuff that’s just made up. Her melodies are bound to get stuck in your head for weeks to come!
Jen is now working on a independent full length album. Her good friend Curtis Buckle is engineering it . And with the help of some amazing musician friends and artists she hopes to release in the fall/winter of 2010.
She just finished the first single off the album called “The One” and released it to the web world; myspace, reverbnation and facebook. It’s more of a pop song then al the rest of her tunes. It’s gotta a reggae rhythm and some great harmonies!
Jen has a had a show or 2 every week throughout the summer of 2010 getting her name around Vancouver and promoting her debut album.
Check her out on ReverbNation here.
