Joy Must Remain is not your typical California Rock band.
The origin of the band dates back to early 2005. Based outside of Los Angeles this Indie/Art Rock Band consists of sole song writer Valentin with the help of close friends for live performances. Influenced more by ART and Films than music, JOY MUST REMAIN is just an artistic expression of pent up emotions released through sound.

Joy Must Remain is not your typical California Rock band. The band started in the studio around 2005, with sole member Valentin, who writes, plays the bass, drums, guitar, and sings vocals. Live the band consists of close friends and musicians. When asked to describe Joy Must Remain’s sound, they said, “It’s an attempt to try and capture emotions through sound“. Valentin’s vocals are calming and mellow, but at the same time keeps the listener engaged in the ear-pleasing sounds. Their careful compilation of artistic relevancy and musical passion ensues eclectic melodies that lure listeners.
Apart from most of the musically driven bands and artists, especially in the hectic Los Angeles music scene, Joy Must Remain maintains that they are into music for the sake of art, not fame or fortune. They are not preoccupied with industry showcases or events, but with the genuine goal of putting out artistically inclined, good music. Valentin says, “We would rather be looked at as an artistic band than anything else, fame and Hollywood stuff are not important.” Live shows exude this dedication to the arts and music, attesting to Valentin’s statement. The message they want to relay to their fans is that everyone goes through difficult times, but when it’s over, we all come out better in the end.
When asked about long-term career goals, other bands would vie for fame and fortune, but Joy Must Remain expresses simple aspirations such as making their music heard, and making music that they themselves would want to hear. An EP is set to release in November, available for digital download and a CD.
