The Ambiguous Arts Society is having a Fundraiser show for the ArtsWells Festival up in Wells, BC!
ArtsWells has been aiding and abiding all folks art for over 8 years now, and has had drastic funding cuts. When I sent out the word to performers that we were having a fundraiser, I received over 20 emails back within a week saying bands would come from all over, and perform for free for this festival that rests in their hearts!
The bands performing Saturday, April 16 at THE ONE NIGHT STAND (at the Rickshaw Theatre), and ArtsWells fundraiser are:

The Big Sellout is playing at the Amnesty International Film Festival on Saturday November at 9:15 on the VanCity Theatre in Vancouver. This German documentary by Florian Opitz travels to 4 countries and examines 4 cases where privatization has damaged average people. The film goes to England where the rail system is suffering since its privatization to several companies, pretty much like the companies here in Canada that have gone through this process. Delays, poor maintenance, accidents, negligence, among other deficiencies. Once a service is provided by a corporation it owes itself to the shareholders not to the general public as is the case of the public sector. While poor working conditions and saftey issues in a transit system in a developed country might be serious is not as serious as the other cases in the documentary

Vancouver’s signature festival and British Columbia’s biggest music showcase will animate the city for ten days June 25 – July 4.
