The baby Stolen Organs were born from the righteous pool of afterbirth rained down from a Shonavan corn shucked named Rusty when he whopped his tabby cat in a boxing match at the Great Barn Burner of ‘76. They always, always record at home and were once called the Bastard Sons of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.

Friday Sunrise – May 14, 2010 with Fuzzcat!

Fuzzcat plays live in studio and they make us giggle.
Fuzzcat is “GO!” Playing funk-rock with elements of ska, reggae, and punk, Fuzzcat explodes dance floors with diverse sets that keep the crowd on an upward trajectory. Fuzzcat is singer/guitarist Chris Ryan, bassist Dave Wise, drummer Jeff Carter, lead guitarist Steve Bedall, and keyboardist/percussion Peter Bowles.
Playing everywhere and anywhere, the band has become a fixture on the Vancouver music scene. Fully independent, Fuzzcat regularly books their own shows at The ANZA Club and plays monthly nights in Vancouver — one of …

Friday Sunrise – April 30, 2010

Whistler’s own Rachel Thom, winner of the IPOP festival chats with us in studio along with Parneet from Beacon Point Entertainment.
Also listen for a little Beach Boys and some Frank Sinatra. What’s Friday without the Beach Boys and Frank?

Friday Sunrise – April 23

Show starts about one minute after the BBC at the beginning…
Today’s show was a little crazy. After rearranging schedules with Fuzz Cat (who were to appear on the show) in order to have The Wassabi Collective on, who unfortunately ended up not being able to make it because they were in Victoria and wouldn’t make it on time. We brought on Jenna Mack a singer who Mark has known since elementary school.
Fuzz Cat will be on the show in May and we hope to try and bring the …

The Joey Only Outlaw Band Release Their Fifth Album – Transgression Trail

With a full band and a sound that defines where the band is at the moment, Joey’s new album is more about life then the political tones of his previous releases.

Joey Only is a consummate performer he pokes fun at the crowd and at Vancouver in general and with songs like Honkey Tonk Hockey and The Ghetto Birdz his prolific slant on Canadiana is heart inspiring.

Friday Sunrise – 11 Hour Orchestra

11 Hour Orchestra joins us in the studio with a live jam.
This was a great show! We had eight people stuffed into the small studio including two large amps and half a drum kit.
11 Hour Orchestra dances the fine line between improvisation and tight, danceable grooves. With a unique blend of hip hop, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, flamenco and afro-beat, their sound will keep you dancing- and wondering what’s next. No two live shows are the same and feature a revolving collective of talent that join the group onstage.
This …
