The Grey Matters Personal Year In Review Of 2011

2011 was a memorable year for events, festivals and hockey! This year has been full new and exciting things for me! I decided to take myself away a little more from the computer and start attending more events. I have talked to a lot of you on different social media sites and through email but there was never a personal face between us. 2011 was a year that I got to personally meet a lot of you. These are just a few of things that I got to do and some of the events and festivals that I have attended, worked with or organized. It really all started in January…

Spookhaus Live On The Drive-Car Free Day 2011

With his ripped up jersey covered in blood, a skull mask and a hockey helmet with a bloody bear paw on the back, this caught my attention! Not only was his guitar riffs tight and solid, I wanted to find out his message.

Hockey Riots in Vancouver 2011

I am so disturbed by what happened last night! That was some of the craziest shit that I witnessed as a journalist. We took a perfectly good thing and made it into a bad thing. Instead of celebrating how far me made it in the playoffs, a few disrespectful punks have now marked Vancouver as “The No Fun City”! Never again will we be able to gather in the streets together as a city and cheers on together for a good thing. We all said that we were more grown up then 94, but these few young shit heads just wanted to pretend to be cool and a part of something. Well how about being apart of something special, something we call the Canada Way, something to be proud of instead of ashamed of how the rest of Canada will now always look at us.

The best In Beatboxing!

Beatboxing is sweeping the nation. It’s hard to believe if you have not heard a beatboxer yet! If you are one of the few, below are some of my favorite beatboxing videos.

The first video is what really got me interested with it and the amazing skills that it takes to do this. It really blows my mind how they can have so many sounds coming out their mouth at one time.

Check out below some of my favorite beatboxers that get me moving in the mornings before work.

The Best Venues Are In BC!

There is something about venues in BC!

I don’t know what it is but they are the friendliest anywhere else in the world. Here are a few examples why.

On Friday, January 22, 2010 the Cultural Olympiad kicked off at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.

The 2009 Sasquatch Festival is a prime example of what the power of one can really do.

Baby Brown Eyes, You stole my heart. I had to write a song…and I can’t believe what happened next.

Well summer is now over and what a summer I have had.
You can read about some of my adventures here. But during my summer I did one thing that I am very proud of, wrote a song for my girl. It was nothing much but words on a page when a good friend of mine Mark Ferriby from The Get Down, started to read it and thought that I had something there. We played around with it for a bit till we got the right melody and then adjusted the …

A Day To Remember For All To Enjoy

Vancouver Jazz Festival
What a week we all have had!
Let’s see, umm there was Canada Day, the Vancouver Jazz Festival and the unfortunate announcement of the passing of Michael Jackson. I know that there has been a huge amount of publicity on MJ and in no way am I trying to ride the wave of his passing, but more of a way to pay respects to a legend, an icon and a family man who has left 3 beautiful children behind.
The passing of Michael Jackson was a day that none of …
