Exclusive Interview with Jonathan Fluevog

Vogville Recordings is the brainchild of music lover Jonathan Fluevog. The son of designer and entrepeneur John Fluevog started this business more than ten years ago with a 30,000 dollar loan from the bank, Since then he has worked with a wide range of artists, from international acts like The Scissor Sisters, The Shins, Zero 7, the Dandy Warhol’s and Supreme Beings of Leisure to local emerging talent and established bands like Mathew Good and K-OS who also had recorded there.

He has been working with musicians for the last 17 years as an engineer, producer, promoter and now manager. He is managing the band The Light Machines and that is how he got the idea of organizing a festival like Vogville. “I have been booking them and I noticed there was a need for festivals so bands can play for more people and reach a different audience. By doing the festival we are reaching a lot of people. When they play in a club they get the same followers and fans all the time and not a lot of exposure, so imagine getting all the followers from all the bands.
