The Brass Action is a Vancouver based, high-energy, horn-driven, ska band!  With two loud horns, we’ve been making noise in Vancouver for the past 3 years.  We’re a 6-piece band that mashes jazz, reggae, ska, and punk into one big ball of flaming music and spits it out at anybody within earshot. Vancouver-based rock-reggae group Redeye Empire released their 4th album “Last Chance For Sunshine” on July 1st, 2011. To celebrate the release of their new album, Redeye Empire hit the road for a series of Album Release shows in BC and the USA.

Natalie Pa’apa’a got the crowd as excited as humanly possible bringing us into a frenzied riot of pleasure and dancing. A musician with the message of ONE LOVE Natalie Pa’apa’a and Blue King brown are an inspiration. If you ever get the chance to check them out, do it! You will be glad you did and you will leave the show feeling like you were just part of something unimaginably great.

My music is conscious, soulful, and uplifting Roots Rock Reggae with a healthy dose of Blues and even a bit of Jazz influence.

On Saturday, March 19th, The Green performs at Shark Club.Their self-titled debut album was named iTunes Best Reggae Album of 2010.

If you think the reggae community is not very abundant in Vancouver… Think again. I went to the Reef restaurant today and talk to a couple of people from the Vancouver Reggae industry and they gave me the scoop. Mr.Metro, a music producer and a former Juno Award Winner and Much Music Award winner, told me the scene is about to explode, they are recording a lot of local artists in their studio off Commercial Dr. so you can be sure that a lot of music is about to erupt from these guys. But in the meantime we also talked to Maxine Burrell who is one of the founders and president of the West Coast Reggae Caribbean Music Awards, an organization that is going to recognize and unite not only the reggae and the hip hop community, but all the Afro Caribbean music in BC.

Phatty Phatty And The Roaches are an amazing ska, reggae, dub band. We’ve been playing them a lot on Friday Sunrise on 101.9FM in Vancouver. Definitely a local band worth checking out!

Phatty Phatty arrived via The Mothership in Vancouver, BC, Canada sometime just after the year 2000 (details can get hazy). The Phatty’s play an extraterrestrial blend of reggae, dub, ska, with a taste of just about anything else. Bring yer dancing shoes to a Phatty’s show (blue suede if ya got em), cause that’s what’s it all about!

Fuzzcat is “GO!” Playing funk-rock with elements of ska, reggae, and punk, Fuzzcat explodes dance floors with diverse sets that keep the crowd on an upward trajectory. This was a great show! We had eight people stuffed into the small studio including two large amps and half a drum kit.
