All Aboard At The Railway Club
On Wednesday April 7th VanMusic put on a show at The Railway Club here in Vancouver.
It was just
over a year ago that we launched VanMusic and almost one year to the day when we threw our first event. Coincidentally when we arrived at The Railway there was a birthday in progress and we even arrived to cake. Sometimes the universe speaks in strange ways…
The Railway is a great venue, there’s something about seeing that train near the ceiling as it travels along the track. I always feel like a hobo passing through as I catch a glimpse of the wildlife and listen to the sounds of the other hobos as they jam their lives out on stage.
The second great coincidence of the night was when we found out that there was a free beer tasting at The Railway. Tree Brewing and Granville Island Brewing are battling for a tap at The Railway and so there were free glasses of beer and little taste testing cards to fill out. All in all there were six different beers to sample and that’s pretty damn fantastic if you ask me.
The evening opened with Aunts and Uncles, followed by Waltz Darling who played a fantastic rare acoustic set. Sunday’s Best performed allowing their bluesy souls to drip all over the stage and The Get Down closed the house by bringing it down like they do. Feet stomping hips grooving and arms in the air as we danced to new songs from The Get Down who will very soon be releasing their new album Are You Down?.
Keep your eyes on vanmusic.ca to find out when and where that release party is and listen to The Morning After Show on Tuesdays at 11:30am along with Friday Sunrise on Fridays at 7:30am for more info. You do not want to miss that show!
Thanks to Jordan who worked his ass off on this event too.
P.S. – Look for the BBN 3 interview with the VM Crew soon!
