THE RAIN AND THE SIDEWALK Spring Tour: Ontario & Quebec April 2010

Vancouver-based post-punk alternative band The Rain and the Sidewalk will
be performing songs from their most recent double CD release
WEAKNESS at clubs in Ontario and Quebec, and live on FM radio during the
month of April 2010.

The band will be performing as a duo: singer/songwriter Trevor Thompson of
Vancouver, BC alternates guitar and bass and is joined again for most of
the set by singer/performance artist Shannon Hallett (recently relocated
to Gatineau, QC). Complex background tracks and, where facilities allow,
visual effects contribute to a full and involving performance.

WEAKNESS is The Rain and the Sidewalk’s third full length release, and has
been charting on university stations since the autumn 2009 release. Prior
releases have also enjoyed top ten and top thirty status on both
alternative and electronic charts. The band’s sound has been compared to
Joy Division, Interpol and The Smiths among others.

After dozens of shows in the Vancouver area, this tour will be the first
time that Trevor (a self-confessed introvert) has left B.C. and that
Shannon (who grew up in Ottawa) will play in her home town. Future plans
include a remix CD of a selection of the 26 songs on Weakness, as well as
the recording of new songs and a European tour in autumn 2010.
