The Best Vancouver Bands of 2015 according to what we saw!
As every year, VanMusic puts out a small list of the best Vancouver independent bands that are conquering the world and our city. Some of the bands here were on our list last year, some are not, but all are good. Some will be on next year as they will be releasing albums soon. So check out bands like Combine the Victorious, Devil in the Woodshack, Good for Grapes, Tyrannahorse, You Say Party! among others.

Fake Tears “Second Wind”

Even before joining as Fake Tears, Larissa Loyva and Elisha May Rembold were already established singers and songwriters. Loyva has released two spectral albums under the name Kellarissa, has toured the world as a live member of Destroyer and How to Dress Well, and has played in past Mint Records acts P:ano and the Choir Practice. Meanwhile, Rembold leads the folk-rock band the Lost Lovers Brigade and is a member of Shimmering Stars.

Robb Hill will be performing at the British Ex-Servicemen Association 1143 Kingsway this Saturday 20th with The Cattails and Jacqueline Dawn. Robb Hill is a talented and amicable, free spirited man. His music reflects his character, easy going and sensitive that blends alternative rock with pop songs either as a singer songwriter or as an electric band. He is also a comedian and a show man, plays golf, teaches tennis and travel around sharing his music. Latest tours include Ney York Sate, Toronto, Calgary, the Island across the Georgia Straight among others. Some people remember him from his previous band Brave by Numbers.
Robb Hill’s music offers indie music fans elements that encapsulate many genres. Hill’s stage presence and audience interaction make every show a unique experience. Hill has been hosting and performing shows in Vancouver since 2006.

Redgy Blackout

With the release of the self titled EP in July 2011, Redgy Blackout had the single “Bottom of the Sea” and “Alexandria” spinning on The Peak 100.5FM in Vancouver generating quite a buzz. The new single “Lovely, Lovely Day”, produced by Warne Livesey (Matthew Good, Midnight Oil), is now spinning on The Peak for this year’s Performance Project. The song won the Best of BC October $10,000 with a $10,000 prize on the Shore 104.3 FM.
