CANADIAN LAUNCH EVENT // RAW:natural born artists
Friday, August 23, 2013, Gossip Nightclub, 8:00 pm

RAW:natural born artists, an independent arts organization, has swept across the US and Australia and is making its Canadian debut this Summer with a launch in Vancouver and Montréal. The actual Canadian launch event will be in Vancouver, at Gossip Nightclub in Plaza of Nations.

In summer 2012, RAW artists launched in Australia with its first international showcase, in Brisbane, QLD. RAW has since opened in over 10 Australian cities, and is expanding to Europe currently.

Armed with the mission of connecting artists across genres so that they can grow together, RAW showcases independent artists in fashion, music, visual art, film, performing art, photography, hair and makeup, in over 70 cities across the U.S. and Australia. RAW focuses on providing these artists with the tools and resources needed to inspire and cultivate creativity. Since its conception in 2009, RAW has showcased over 30,000 artists and has hosted over 500 local art-infused events.

After four years of successfully promoting and connecting independent artists in the United States, the organization has put into motion the goal of expanding an already international network to creative communities in Europe and in Canada.

“I am very much looking forward to making Canada a part of our creative network,” said RAW Founder and Executive Director Heidi Luerra. “To watch our young organization grow so quickly because of the support and passion from independent artists everywhere is inspiring and a true testament to the power of art. We can’t wait to launch in Montréal and Vancouver.”“I am so proud of the exceptional artists that are going to show off their talent at our launch showcase on August 23rd,” exclaims Jacqueline Banz, Director of RAW:Vancouver. “For about the price of a movie ticket, showcase attendees get to experience Mark Fossen’s great voice, Jess Cullen’s powerful songs, cutting edge catwalk shows with Nicole Guzzo’s men’s collection and other talented designers fashion, an award winning short film, live DJ music, plus view the work of dozens of the most talented young artists the city has to offer. The event promises to deliver a fun filled evening for any art lover and a great networking platform for arts professionals.”
