For the first time in Surrey, a festival that combines the magic of reggae with the Afrocaribbean culture at the Stetson Bowl 6050 176th Street in Surrey.
The festival features Jamaican superstar Luciano. For almost 25 years Luciano has been brightening the stages with his Rastafarian-influenced reggae songs. Now he is ready to bring his gospel to a crowd of dancers and reggae lovers of all ages. Its a unique opportunity for the whole family to come enjoy an event that features reknowned artists of different backgrounds.

The Morning After Show, the official show of VanMusic.
The Morning After Show hosted by Oswaldo Pérez Cabrera has been on the air for 15th years. Support the show and get prizes. CiTR 101.9 FM Fundrive started officially. First people to donate to The Morning After Show will get a pair of tickets for La Super Fiesta Furios CD release party with Kutapira, Warless, Hang Ten Hangmen. Live Burlesque with April O´Peel and Violet Femme and hosted by The Purrfesor. April 17th at The Imperial.

First person who donates 50 or more to my show will get a pair of tickets to Jarabe de Palo concert which will be the 15th year Anniversary party opening Los Furios and Caracas. March 24th at The Rickshaw.

The biggest donor the show will get a pair of tickets for Flamin´Groovies courtesy of Rickshaw Vancouver. Opening are BUM and Rich Hope and his Evil Doers March 14th.

The Morning After Show started last century with Jeremy Baker and Paul Gulett on 101.9 FM CiTR radio. Oswaldo Perez Cabrera joined in 2001. When Jeremy left for The Zone in Victoria more than 10 years ago, Oswaldo took over the eclectic radio show which specializes in nothing in particular but plays a lot of local bands and always have guests playing LIVE.

CiTR Fundrive support The Morning After Show

he Morning After Show has been on air at CiTR101.9 FM for the last 15 years showcasing thousands of independent bands. Many bands have paraded through the airwaves of CiTR many of them playing LIVE.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $35,000 in pledges to support our quality programming and operations, and our move into the new Student Union Building on campus! Check out the plans for our new space!

Starting Thursday, February 27th at noon and ending Thursday, March 6th at 7:30 pm, we’ll be asking people on the airwaves to support our radio station. People can donate by:

Cole Petrone

Cole Petrone is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has been entertaining audiences all over the world. Combining a smooth tenor voice with an artistic finger-picking style, Cole has crafted a unique indie sound that has often been compared to that of modern James Taylor and Paul Simon. Widely acclaimed throughout the music industry, his original and catchy melodies include obvious influences from the Beatles, Neil Young, Burt Bacharach, and jazz standards from the “Tin Pan Alley” era. Places with Faces

Psychedelic band is ready to make waves in Vancouver with their trippy, well crafted music. They have two EPs Welcome to the Planetarium and the new one is Moon Aura and they are working on an acoustic album called Purple Sun. “We like to call it sonic rock whatever that is, sort of cracking the distortion a bit and definitively some psychedelic there” tells me Caelin Roza one of the members and singers, “We have three lead singers, kind of Eagles style”.

The East Vancouver band Tyranahorse will be special guest at Tuesday`s Live@Lunch, a free September lunchtime music series. The gig will be hosted by Oswaldo Perez Cabrera on The Morning After Show, live broadcast between 12-1:00 pm.
Tyranahorse describes itself as a noise, grunge, classical, pop, old country, hip hop, rock, and early hardcore band. Its last album, Ghostwolfmotherhawk-prairieunicornlionlioness, is inspired by noise, grunge, kazoo, pop, classical country. hardcore, The Pixies and the B-52′s.
