Maffie and Crew: New spotlight by Rastaboyz.com
An indie jazz-rock band who stretches genre limits to create an eclectic mix of what could best be referred to as danceable funked-up jazz-metal.
Jack Breakfast releases his new album titled, “The Escapers”., a 35 minute song about loneliness, birds, ghosts and trouble with families.
The NORTHERN LEADERSHIP began in a southern Ontario town full of blues bars and factory workers.

MusicFest Vancouver is back for a tenth year of bringing the world’s finest classical, jazz and world music artists to Vancouver, and its diverse 2010 program showcases the festival’s core mission to celebrate and promote live music in many styles and forms. This year’s lineup will include hundreds of international and local artists at the peak of their performing powers, ready to entertain thousands of music fans from August 6 – 15, 2010 in nine favourite Vancouver venues.
Deep in the Kootenay Mountain range, the Salmo River Ranch begins its annual transformation. Pristine pastures evolve into a city of 10,000, where nature and technology coexist harmoniously. A community rises, sharing a common goal; celebrating a collective love and respect for music, art and humanity. For five days and four nights time ceases to exist.
This is the crucible of artistry and musical mayhem. This is the zenith of modern underground entertainment.
This is Shambhala.
The inspectors of the City of Vancouver just discovered that Little Mountain Gallery s been renting their space for private parties, theatre plays, small gigs and all ages shows, etc. The shows here are affordable, alcohol free, and they always finish at 10PM . The venue is licensed as a retail art gallery so according to their activities don`t comply with the license. The City is worried about safety , but the volunteers of The Gallery said that there is no license in the city for places like this one because they are a hub for all arts. Most of the neighbours support the place and it has endorsements from all sorts
Friday Sunrise 07/23/10 – Tobacco Brown & A Few New Bands From Toronto
Tobbacco Brown joins Mark Ferreby in live in studio and Jason calls in from Toronto with some of his Toronto indie choices.
Tobacco Brown is travelling the world in search of fast women and loose cars. Upon deciding sometime after his nineteenth birthday that he would like to give music an honest shot-Mr. Brown has been writing and performing almost non-stop. He currently has one album recorded with the help of Edouard Camou at Sinewavz …
I had been waiting for this show for the better part of two months, and I was getting sick. My throat killing me. Distracting me from not only the job I had to do, but also enjoying much of the show as I would like, but I soldiered on. I took up position at the side of the stage while the band readied themselves for the fierce looking crowd that was waiting for them. One fan I knew from Edmonton came back to greet the band. Asking if they remembered certain shows in Red Deer, and Calgary, and then offered them his basement to come play in. He did have a big basement.
These guys have to be one of the hottest bands in Toronto right now, every other person I talk to has mentioned them to me. Consisting of a DJ and a guitar player their sound is cutting edge, tight and exciting. With lyrics that make you think and a heavy groove you can’t help but fall into the soundscape they unleash upon you. I would love to see these guys live!
