Robb Hill

Robb Hill will be performing at the British Ex-Servicemen Association 1143 Kingsway this Saturday 20th with The Cattails and Jacqueline Dawn.

Robb Hill is a talented and amicable, free spirited man. His music reflects his character, easy going and sensitive that blends alternative rock with pop songs either as a singer songwriter or as an electric band. He is also a comedian and a show man, plays golf, teaches tennis and travel around sharing his music. Latest tours include Ney York Sate, Toronto, Calgary, the Island across the Georgia Straight among others. Some people remember him from his previous band Brave by Numbers.

Robb Hill’s music offers indie music fans elements that encapsulate many genres. Hill’s stage presence and audience interaction make every show a unique experience. Hill has been hosting and performing shows in Vancouver since 2006.

Robb moved to Vancouver in 2005 from Waterloo Ontario, and immediately enjoyed the vibrant music scene. Playing open mics frequently, and increasing his song repertoire, Robb really dove into music full steam ahead.

With influences ranging from Foo Fighters, The Doors, Tom Petty, Muse, Sam Roberts, Pearl Jam and Nirvana, the music gives the listener a combination of high energy guitar, memorable lyrics, and a danceable element.

Forming the band Brave By Numbers in 2006, Robb played with a variety of bandmates at various shows in Vancouver including The Roxy, Railway Club, The Bourbon, and The Cellar. Now focusing on his solo career, he enjoys the opportunities that arise collaborating with other musicians.

Robb’s stage presence draws the crowd into the show with his witty stories and audience interaction. He takes pride in booking other bands and organizing shows. He plays both solo acoustic shows and all out band rock shows. His online presence has gained fans in the US, and around the world. Robb performed an 18 show summer 2011 Canada tour (BC to Quebec), where he gained fans and set up great connections with other indie bands.

The album “Come On In” was released on iTunes in December 2011

Songs including “Yesterday” , “Green Light Go” , “Next Thing I Knew” and “Watching Waiting” have received airplay on podcasts, online radio stations and Robb has been interviewed on local college radio shows on CiTR and CJSF.
